Edwin J. Foster, Esq. is a business-minded Corporate Finance and Transactional attorney who regularly serves as outside general counsel to public and private companies, start-ups and emerging growth businesses, investors, entrepreneurs, nonprofits and tax-exempt organizations, including 501(c)(3) public charities, private foundations and 501(c)(4) social welfare organizations.

Mr. Foster is skilled in the drafting and negotiation of transactional agreements and advises on a range of business and corporate matters, including, corporate formation and governance, venture capital and private equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.

Mr. Foster began his legal career in the Corporate Department at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York City, where he advised Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, entertainment and sports agencies, funds and investors on matters of corporate governance, fund formation, securities laws, and on a wide variety of strategic transactions; including U.S. and cross-border M&A, joint ventures and financings.

Prior to founding J. Foster Law & Associates, Mr. Foster served as Partner for a New York City-based law firm where he acted as lead contracts counsel on several complex IP and entertainment related transactions. He also advised on the structuring and negotiation of commercial contracts and intercompany agreements for small businesses and nonprofits.

Mr. Foster received his B.A. from Yale University and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School with a certificate of study in Business Economics and Public Policy from the Wharton School of Business.

He is a member of the Bar of the State of New York, a New York licensed Real Estate Broker, an avid golfer and champion of youth sports and life skills development.
